What exactly does Azores Awake arrange?

Accepted Answer

Custom island itineraries, private tours and experiences, airport and inter-island transfers, concierge and property management, and slow-tourism wellness programmes with yoga, massage, thermal waters and coaching. Services can be booked alone or combined into one journey managed from arrival to departure.

Which islands do you cover?

All nine islands of the Azores. Most journeys are built around São Miguel, Pico, Faial, Terceira, Flores, Corvo and Santa Maria, and we advise on which combination suits your dates, interests and the season you are travelling in.

How far in advance should I book?

Accepted Answer

For July to September, three to six months ahead is comfortable, as the best houses, guides and boats are limited. Outside the high season, four to six weeks is usually enough. We take a small number of journeys per month, so earlier is always safer.

How do I request a quote or make a booking?

Message us on WhatsApp at +351 911 002 434, email book@azoresawake.com, or use the contact form. Tell us your dates, who is travelling and what you enjoy, and you will receive a personal proposal, usually within one working day.

Are the tours private?

Yes. Everything is private by default, with your own guide, driver or skipper. Group experiences are only suggested when they are genuinely the better option, such as certain whale-watching departures.

What happens if the weather changes?

Accepted Answer

The Atlantic decides, so every itinerary is planned with alternatives. If a boat, crater or trail is not viable on the day, we reorganise the schedule while you are travelling, at no extra planning cost.

Which languages do you work in?

English and Portuguese in person, with written communication also possible in French, Spanish and German.

What are the wellness and slow-tourism programmes?

Multi-day programmes built around the island rhythm: iron-rich thermal springs, yoga at first light, bodywork after dinner, walking coaching sessions and unhurried time outdoors. They can be a full retreat or woven into a travel itinerary.
